Organic Merchant Green Tea Blends

Sencha green tea is one of the most common green tea varieties and undergoes minimal processing and no fermentation, keeping all of its nutrients and antioxidant properties intact.

Tea is harvested in either the first or second flush, the first being the best quality using the youngest leaves – this first flush is known as Sencha. This type of green tea generally has a yellow colour as it is made from the top buds and early leaves of the tea plant. It has a slight bitter taste and light vegetal aroma.

Sencha tea is nutrient dense and full of antioxidants, catechins, vitamin C, beta-carotene, folic acid, saponins, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. Sencha is also known to contain the highest amount of vitamin C of all teas.
