What single origin tea means

Single origin tea represents the pinnacle of quality, authenticity and craftsmanship in the world of tea. Unlike our blended tisanes combining leaves from multiple regions or farms to achieve consistency in flavor, the products in this category come from a single location.

For tea connoisseurs our single origin collection provides an opportunity to explore the vast diversity of flavors that nature and human skill can create. Each cup tells a story. In an era of mass production and uniformity, our hand-selected certified organic blends offer an authentic and deeply personal connection to the land, the growers and the art of tisanes itself.

FAQ and further info about single origin tea 🌍

Single origin means the tea is sourced from one specific region, farm or cooperative, offering a distinct flavour profile and traceability, ensuring transparency in sourcing, quality and environmental impact.

Many single origin teas are produced using traditional methods, preserving both cultural heritage and biodiversity. They highlight the unique terroir of their growing region.

The place of origin, known as its terroir, can influence the tea's flavor, aroma and overall profile, much like wine. Climate, soil composition, altitude and even local farming traditions all shape the characteristics of the leaves and herbs. By focusing on a single source, the teas in this collection allow you to experience the pure essence of a place.

Our current selection includes Sencha Green Tea and English Breakfast from the tea plant, alongside pure Chamomile, Peppermint and Rose Petals.

They have a more defined and pure flavour. Some may be bolder or more delicate depending on the variety.

Method depends on what the plant is rather than on the collection. Black tea wants water off the boil and three to five minutes. Green tea prefers cooler water and a shorter steep. The pure herbs and flowers here sit with our caffeine free herbal collection and benefit from a longer, covered infusion. Exact times are on each product page.

A single ingredient gives you control. You can taste the plant on its own, learn what it does, and then decide whether you want it as part of something larger. Many customers use pure Peppermint or Chamomile as a base and add to it. If you would rather have the work done for you, our naturopathic tea collection is formulated around specific outcomes.
