The Golden Leaf Awards
The Golden Leaf awards is Australia’s premier tea awards event, developed by the Australian Tea Masters Association to promote and provide recognition to the high quality teas available globally, and particularly in Australia. The GLA is an independently organised competition, judged by professional cuppers, established to distinguish the highest quality and best tasting teas commercially available in the Australasian marketplace. Awards are granted across a range of specialised categories, with a Gold, Silver and Bronze selected from among the entries in each.
To assess the entries in the Golden Leaf Awards, Australian Tea Masters curates a group of expert tasters. The tasters are drawn from among highly experienced chefs, leading sommeliers, accomplished baristas and food and wine journalists, as well as experienced tea blenders. To ensure complete objectivity, all tea categories are blind-tasted, according to strict preparation protocols and without any brand identification. The judging panel considers different aspects of each submission, including flavour, aroma and appearance, and arrives at a collaborative evaluation. It is the most rigorous assessment a tea can face in this country, and the reason a Golden Leaf medal carries the weight it does.
Australian Organic Industry Awards
The Australian Organic Annual Industry awards celebrate excellence and innovation in Australia’s organic sector, recognising the businesses, brands and individuals dedicated to certified organic practices. Hosted by Australian Organic Limited, the industry’s leading body, these prestigious awards acknowledge outstanding contributions across a wide range of categories within the Australian organic industry. By highlighting the achievements of those committed to sustainability, integrity and quality, the awards play a crucial role in promoting growth and awareness across the sector. They serve as a benchmark for excellence, inspiring businesses and consumers alike to support ethical, environmentally responsible products and practices, and recognition here places a brand among the most credible names in certified organic in Australia.
Clean + Conscious Awards
Founded in 2019 the Clean + Conscious awards were the first awards in the world to recognise and celebrate products that are both non-toxic and socially responsible. They are known throughout the industry as one of Australia’s most rigorous assessments of what actually goes into a product. Every entry undergoes a thorough in-house ingredient and materials review, with only the top five products in each category named as finalists. Those finalists are then hands-on tested and independently scored by an expert panel of more than eighty-five judges, drawn from media, health, retail, sustainability and ethical business. The awards operate with no paid placements and no sponsored wins, which is precisely what makes them so widely trusted by conscious consumers. The programme was previously known as the Australian Non-Toxic Awards, and also appears under that earlier name in our awards table above.
The Beauty Shortlist Awards
The Beauty Shortlist awards were established to honour outstanding products and companies, celebrating innovation, integrity and quality in the rapidly growing clean beauty sector. With an emphasis on organic, cruelty-free and environmentally responsible formulations, they serve as a benchmark for consumers seeking high-performing, conscious beauty and wellness products. As an independent, expert-ranked guide, The Beauty Shortlist Awards help consumers navigate an increasingly crowded marketplace by spotlighting the very best in beauty, health and wellbeing. The GALA Awards
The GALA Awards are presented at the Reed Gift Fairs, Australia’s largest and most influential trade event for the gift and homewares industry, where thousands of buyers gather each year to discover the products that will define the season ahead. What sets these awards apart is that they are judged in person. A panel of industry experts walks the fair floor throughout the event, examining products first-hand on the stands, assessing craftsmanship, presentation and originality exactly as a buyer would encounter them. The WellBeing Be-YOU-T Awards
Presented by WellBeing magazine, the Be-YOU-T Awards are Australia’s only dedicated natural beauty awards, created to champion the brands leading the way in clean, conscious and eco-friendly formulation. Australian consumers nominate and vote for their favourite natural beauty and wellness products, with more than fourteen thousand votes cast in the inaugural year alone. The WellBeing editorial team then spends the following year testing, sampling and reviewing the entries hands-on before the winners are named, so that every product carrying a Be-YOU-T title has earned both the endorsement of the public and the approval of the magazine’s own experts. It is a powerful combination, and a genuine mark of trust for readers navigating the natural beauty world.
The EatWell Yummies Awards
The EatWell Yummies Awards are the People’s Choice awards of the Australian wholefood community, run annually by EatWell magazine to acknowledge the hard-working, committed people behind the healthy food brands readers know and love. Winners are chosen by the readers themselves, with more than seventeen thousand votes cast across the categories in recent years, making these among the most genuinely representative food awards in the country.
