Spirit Dust was formulated by founder and naturopath Chalimah Jeanne, drawing on the wisdom of traditional Western, Chinese, Peruvian and Ayurvedic medicine, with resilience to everyday stress in mind. Our raw cacao is sourced from smallholder organic farms where possible, supporting farmers and communities while maintaining the quality and flavour of the cacao.
ALLERGENS + DIETARY INFORMATION
Our products are dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, non-GMO, vegan, certified organic and plant-based. They contain no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, or sweeteners.
This product has been manufactured, packaged and stored in a facility that is free from nuts, dairy, soy, sesame seeds, sulphites and eggs.
- Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup (250 ml), depending on how chocolatey you like it.
- Add a small splash of freshly boiled water and stir to make a smooth paste. This helps prevent lumps in your cup.
- Top up with your choice of hot milk. We recommend using oat milk.

Spirit Dust brings together raw cacao and adaptogenic herbs traditionally used to help the body cope with physical and mental stress. Research into several of these botanicals has explored stress, sleep and mood, although most studies use concentrated extracts rather than whole herbs in a food blend.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha root is a key adaptogen in Ayurvedic medicine. In a randomised, double-blind trial of adults with a history of chronic stress, a high-concentration ashwagandha root extract taken for 60 days significantly reduced stress-assessment scores and lowered serum cortisol compared with placebo. A systematic review and meta-analysis on ashwagandha and sleep also found a small but significant improvement in overall sleep, with the clearest effects in adults with insomnia.
Siberian Ginseng
Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is one of the most extensively studied adaptogens, with much of the early research carried out in the former Soviet Union. A review of adaptogen research describes its stress-protective activity and its use to support mental and physical performance against a background of fatigue.
Raw Cacao
Raw cacao provides the chocolate base of Spirit Dust and contains naturally occurring polyphenols. In a 30-day randomised, placebo-controlled trial, healthy adults who drank a high-polyphenol cocoa drink daily reported greater calmness and contentedness than the placebo group.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon adds natural sweetness and warmth to Spirit Dust. A meta-analysis of randomised trials in people with type 2 diabetes found that cinnamon was associated with lower fasting blood glucose, although doses varied widely between studies and there was no significant effect on HbA1c.

Yes, many of our customers enjoy Spirit Dust as an evening wind-down ritual. Raw cacao naturally contains small amounts of caffeine and theobromine, so if you are sensitive to stimulants, start with a smaller serve and see how you feel.
Ashwagandha works gradually rather than instantly. The clinical studies on stress and sleep ran for around eight weeks and used concentrated extracts, so Spirit Dust is best enjoyed as a consistent daily ritual rather than a quick fix.
Spirit Dust is smooth and chocolatey with warm cinnamon and a gentle ginger spice. Mesquite adds a natural caramel-like sweetness, so most cups need no added sweetener at all.

The Spirit Dust is lovely and delicate. It does not taste sweet and artificial, it taste nourishing and a flavour that I know my body will crave more and more, much better than drinking coffee.
