Yes, the pure raw cacao powder we use is naturally gluten free. Cacao beans come from the cacao tree and do not contain gluten. However, processed cacao products you may find in the supermarket (like drinking chocolate, cocoa mixes or chocolate bars) may include added ingredients that contain gluten, or they may be made in facilities that also handle gluten-containing foods. We recommend always checking the labels if in doubt.

Yes. You can replace any recipe that includes cocao powder with cacao just remember it may need a little natural sweetener like honey.

Whilst not being the same as ceremonial cacao in the traditional sense, you can use the OM cacao DUST range for this purpose.

But keep in mind that ceremonial cacao generally has the cacao butter content still intact and comes in a paste form. It is made by fermenting and lightly toasting the beans, then peeling the husks and stone-grinding them down to create a paste which is set into a block. Nothing added, nothing removed. The bean’s fat remains intact.
