Wellbeing

Human wellbeing can mean different things to different people. At Organic Merchant we see wellbeing as the health of the whole person – mind, body and spirit.

What is Wholistic Wellness?

At Organic Merchant, our product development process starts with the idea of what wellness effect we are trying to achieve? What can we offer to provide wholistic care?

We are committed to sourcing the latest evidenced based medicine and aligning these with long standing traditional modalities of physical and spiritual healing.

As a naturopath, there are six principles that govern Naturopathic Medicine and guide the care we provide our clients. One of those principles is Tolle Totum – treat the whole person.

Naturopaths take into account the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental aspects of each individual they treat.

Naturopathic medicine utilises a broad array of modalities including dietary protocols, nutritional supplements, herbal medicine, flower essences, homeopathy, iridology, counselling, environmental medicine, aromatherapy, and manual therapies such as massage and reflexology.

This is something I have incorporated into the fabric of Organic Merchant and what we are trying to achieve with our products and service offering.

Our mission is to empower individuals to enhance and maintain their overall wellbeing.

Ayurveda

Ayurvedic medicine stems from the belief that health is dependent on the balance of the mind, body and spirit. Its practices help the prevention of illness and the maintenance of good health rather than the treating of diseases.

According to Ayurvedic medicine every person is made up of the 5 elements: space, air, fire, water and earth. These elements form the three life forces, Vata dosha (space and air), Pita dosha (fire and water) and Kapha dosha (water and earth). It is believed that everyone has a unique combination of these energies, with each dosha controlling different body functions.

Emotional and physical stresses such as your diet, emotions, the seasons, the weather, injuries and age can disturb this balance and cause health issues.
