WHAT IS BUCHU TEA?
Buchu tea is made from three different species of Agathosma Betulina – a plant native to South Africa.
Its natural taste can be described as pleasantly spicy. However, some people describe the taste of buchu leaf tea as being similar to black currant, as well as a combination of peppermint and rosemary.
WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF BUCHU TEA?
There are a number of studies on the health benefits of drinking buchu tea, ranging from treating flatulence to urinary infections. The plant’s leaves is where the medicinal properties reside, which is the part of the plant that can also be found in our herbal blend.
Thanks to buchu’s magical properties, the plant has been used as a traditional way of healing for centuries. Known as the ‘elixir of youth’, it was consumed through chewing the leaves as well as mixing it with other properties. Today, it is mainly consumed as a tea and is recognised for its anti-inflammatory properties, which is why pharmacists often recommend it to treat urinary infections.
