- Place 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per cup (250ml) in an infuser or teapot and pour over boiling water (100°C).
- Infuse for 5+ minutes depending on your desired strength.
- We recommend complementing with milk and/or honey to taste.
- Enjoy 1-4 cups daily of this this caffeine free chai in between meals to invigorate and restore.
How to make Spicy Chai on the stove top
For an extra spicy and authentic experience, this blend can be prepared on the stove top.
- Place 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per cup (250ml) in a saucepan or our Copper Milk Warmer + Chai Pot and cover with water.
- Bring to the boil and simmer for at least 5 mins.
- Add milk if desired and warm through. Do not boil the milk, just simmer.
- Strain into your favourite cup using a tea infuser or our Brass Tea Strainer.
- Complement with honey to taste.
For a creamy, chai latte-style experience, prepare this blend directly in milk on the stove top.
- Place 2-3 teaspoons of spiced chai per cup of milk (250ml) in a pot.
- Gently bring to a simmer and continue heating for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
- Strain the loose leaves and enjoy.
- Complement with honey to taste.

After finishing your brew, we encourage you to return your steeped herbs back to the earth, for example in your home compost, worm farm or garden waste, allowing it to breakdown into organic matter and return to nourish our environment.

True to its name, OM’s Spicy Chai is composed primarily of spices and is a flavourful and aromatic blend rather than an intensely hot one. The spices contain more traditionally pungent elements, like cardamom and clove, with the warmer flavours of ginger and cinnamon, and the lightening floral and citrus of hibiscus and orange to form a lifted, energising version of chai. As with all blends, experimenting with the amount of tea and the length of time steeped can help you find your ideal flavour.
Yes. OM’s Spicy Chai can be enjoyed hot or cold. When prepared as an iced tea, it can be kept refrigerated for up to three days.
OM's Spicy Chai and Masala Chai both combine traditional Indian spices, but this one is a naturally caffeine-free herbal chai, while Masala Chai has a black tea base and naturally contains caffeine. Spicy Chai also has citrus and rose notes from hibiscus, rose petals and orange peel, giving it a lighter, more floral profile.
No. OM’s Spicy Chai contains no added sugar or sweeteners. Its naturally aromatic blend has warm, spicy, citrus and rose notes, while honey can be added to taste when brewing.
