Health benefits of herbs in Australian Bush Blush Tea:
Hibiscus – This herb contains citric acid, malic acid and flavonoids which are useful for brightening the skin. Generally, it is effective in increasing stamina and endurance, as well as lowering blood pressure and blood sugar level.
Quandong – The native Australian fruit is known for its purgative nature. Traditional medicine uses quandong infusions for its gentle laxative effect. Tea made from quandong is likewise used to alleviate symptoms of rheumatism.
Lemon Myrtle – Lemon myrtle has a reputation as a powerful antiseptic and anti-virus agent that can destroy disease-carrying microorganisms. Traditionally it has been used to treat allergies, colds, sore throats, gastric disturbances and infections. Tea containing lemon myrtle is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties.

What is quandong and how is it traditionally used?
Quandong or ‘native peach’ is a sharp and tart-flavoured fruit from the Australian bush originally used by our country’s First Peoples for its incredible health benefits.
Traditionally used to treat various conditions, from colds to skin disorders, the kernels were crushed to make skin cream. Aromatic wood from Quandong trees was also highly prized and traditionally used in smoking ceremonies.
- Place 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per cup (250ml) into an infuser or teapot and pour over boiling water (100°C)
- Infuse for at least 3-4 minutes depending on your desired strength
- Pour into your favourite cup and experience the moment
- We recommend complementing with a slice of lemon
- Enjoy 1-3 cups daily in between meals to refresh and revitalise.
How to brew an Iced Tea version
Australian Bush Blush with its brilliant crimson colour makes a refreshing iced tea or cocktail infusion:
- Place 4-8 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 1 L, into a jug or teapot and fill with boiling water (100°C)
- Infuse for 5-30 minutes, or overnight, depending on your desired strength
- We recommend serving in a tall glass over ice and experience the moment

- Can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
After finishing your brew, we encourage you to return your steeped herbs back to the earth, for example in your home compost, worm farm or garden waste, allowing it to breakdown into organic matter and return to nourish our environment.
