Lemon verbena is especially prevalent in Europe and Asia and is well known for its antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic and carminative effects. It has a sedative effect on the central nervous system and has been used to alleviate the symptoms of gastrointestinal issues [1]. Lemon verbena is also rich in melatonin, a hormone in our bodies that naturally causes us to become sleepy.
Lemon verbena is used in our Restful and Lemon, Lime and Bitters Tea.
