Hawthorn Berries (Crataegeus monogyna)

Hawthorn berries are nutrient rich tiny fruits that grow on trees and shrubs, and are commonly found in Europe, North America, and Asia.

For hundreds of years, people have used them as a herbal remedy for digestive problems, heart issues, and high blood pressure. It is featured as a key component of traditional Chinese medicine since at least 659 A.D.

High in antioxidants, studies show they reduce blood lipid and cholesterol levels and can change cholesterol metabolism of the liver as well as lower blood pressure.
