Fennel seeds have a sweet liquorice-like taste and they have been used culinarily for flavouring baked goods and dishes and medicinally for treating respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders. Not only are they high in dietary fibre and vitamins but they have antifungal, antibacterial, antioxidant, antithrombotic and hepatoprotective activities. They traditionally have been used in the treatment of abdominal pain, diarrhoea, bronchitis, coughs and wheezing [1,2].
Fennel seed is used in our Digestive, Masala Chai, Mother Nurture and Spicy Chai.
