As the season for togetherness and celebration continues, we’re sharing delicious and refreshing ideas for Christmas beverages. Use Organic Merchant teas for a fresh and vibrant iced tea or cocktail infusion, or create a Yuletide mulled wine.

Enjoying Christmas beverages made with organic loose leaf herbal teas is not only delicious, but a great way to stay hydrated in the summer heat. These festive drinks also have healthy nutritional benefits, are naturally sugar-free, and can be customised to suit your taste.

Christmas Beverages Moroccan Mojito Iced Tea

Moroccan Mint Green Iced Tea Cold Brew

Makes: 1L

  • 1L boiled water
  • 1-2 heaped tbsp Organic Merchant Moroccan Mojito Loose Leaf Tea
  1.  Add freshly boiled water to tea leaves.
  2. Let rest for around 5-30 mins, depending
    on how full-bodied you prefer the flavour.
  3. Allow to cool down naturally or enjoy
    directly served over ice cubes for instant
    iced tea.
  4. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

 

 

Christmas Beverages Iced Tea & Cocktail Infusion

Iced Tea & Cocktail Infusions

Makes: 1L

  • 1L boiled water
  • 1-2 heaped tbsp Organic Merchant tea of your choice
  1. Brew tea for 4-30 mins depending on the desired strength. If you like a stronger taste, let the tea infuse overnight, then strain.
  2. Serve over ice, chilled or as a mixer with sparkling water or alcohol of your choice.
  3. Will keep refrigerated for 3-4 days.
  4. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Christmas Beverages Lemon, Lime & Bitter Iced TeaLemon, Lime & Bitters Iced Tea

Makes: 1L

  1.  Add freshly boiled water to Organic
    Merchant Loose Leaf Tea.
  2. Let rest for around 5-7 mins,
  3. Strain and keep the steeped herbs for your compost.
  4. Enjoy over ice once it has cooled.

 

 

Christmas Beverages Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine

Makes: 1.25L

  • 2-3 tbsp Organic Merchant Mulled Spice Loose Leaf Tea
  • 500mL water
  • 750mL fruity organic red wine (such as Merlot)
  1. Heat tea with 500mL water in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to the boil and reduce heat to low. Let simmer for 10 mins.
  3. Add wine and simmer gently for another 4-5 mins. Turn the heat down or remove completely.
  4. Strain and divide among glasses just when your
    guests arrive.
  5. Serve warm and garnish with a star anise.
