The Golden Leaf Awards are among the most respected tea industry awards in Australasia, celebrating excellence across specialty tea categories including herbal infusions, wellness blends and functional teas. Judged through blind tasting by experienced tea professionals, each entry is evaluated on aroma, flavour, appearance and overall balance.

Receiving this recognition is both an honour and a meaningful affirmation of the care, sourcing and formulation that goes into every Organic Merchant tea.

What Are the Golden Leaf Awards?

The Golden Leaf Awards celebrate outstanding tea products and tea brands across Australia and New Zealand, highlighting quality, innovation and craftsmanship within the specialty tea industry.

Entries are judged by expert tea tasters through a blind evaluation process, ensuring that each tea is recognised purely on its quality and sensory experience. Categories include black tea, green tea, herbal infusions, functional wellness blends and brand awards recognising excellence in packaging and presentation.

For tea producers and tea blenders, the awards are considered a benchmark for premium tea quality and formulation.
