Health benefits of herbs in Rooibos Tea with Rose

Rooibos: Native to South Africa, the red tea is a gentle whole body tonic. It is rich in antioxidants and minerals, and is traditionally used to protect against disease as well as strengthening the body. Some studies indicate that it has up to 50 times more antioxidants than green tea. The high amount of antioxidants is the reason for its popularity amongst Japanese women, who are drinking Rooibos Tea for its positive effect on the skin and hair. It has been known to clear skin of acne and prevent wrinkles. Furthermore, the plant is rich in Vitamin C, low in tannins and may ease digestive problems.

Cinnamon: Traditionally used to lower blood sugar levels and help manage sugar cravings.

What is Rooibos tea?

Rooibos tea (pronounced “Roybos”), sometimes also called “red tea”, is brewed from the dried leaves of the rooibos plant. Literally translated it means “red bush”. This plant is a low-growing shrub native to South Africa, which is quite unlike traditional tea trees. The oxidised leaves, causing the reddish-brown colour of the beverage, create a smooth and naturally sweet sensation in your cup.

Can I drink Rooibos tea during pregnancy?

Yes, you can. Due to the blend being caffeine free and the plant containing magnesium, calcium as well as a naturally high amount of antioxidants, it is even recommended as a beverage of choice while pregnant. A cup can have positive effects on digestion and may ease reflux and colic.

Our Rooibos Rose Tea Box and Jar contain 80g and serve up to 40 cups. The compostable Refill Pouch contains 160g and serves up to 80 cups.

Storage

To preserve the vitality, flavour and therapeutic actions of our teas, we recommend storing in our signature MIRON ultraviolet glass jars – or in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Storing in this manner will extend the blends aroma, vibrancy and benefits for up to 24 months.
